PROFILE

Lyne Ismail or known as Roslina Ismail has always been fascinated with the dual conceptions of art and science and how they influenced one another. She found that creating art provides avenues for her to express creatively and a safe space for experimentation and exploration over new possibilities.  While she started her professional art career later in life, she does not considers it as a setback, believing that her career in science and life experiences are essential to the expression of her works.

Her art speaks for her ideas and views of abstraction, a visual language that she believes are most suitable to highlight the points of correspondence between her intuition and logic. She aspires to create art that embraces the ephemeral aspects of the mind that cannot be reduced or dissected. She expresses that art-making builds its own narrative, which can be perceived from both scientific cognition and artistic intuition.

Currently, her paintings come in different series that communicates her ideation on the concepts of birth, the existence of parallel worlds and the beauty of micro landscapes of the seemingly mundane surfaces. She is actively taking part in art shows and exhibitions in the Malaysian art scene since early 2017.
